The Roots with “Tip the Scale”

The Roots’ American hip hop band has launched their ‘The black-and-white’ video, which is the latest preview of the hip-hop mainstays’ December-due concept album about a “kid who becomes criminal, but he wasn’t born criminal.”

“Tip the Scale” video shows the true to the theme: the gritty lyrics feature Black Thought rapping about “soldiers of the street with 8th grade diplomas” and “living life / like I’m some animal,” while the video, set in November 1990, follows a central character walking through an inner-city neighborhood. It picks up where previous video “Make My” ended, with the story to continue: future videos will premiere at 12:06 p.m. on Tuesdays until the album’s release.
