Democratic National Alliance (DNA) MP, Tiran Alles after meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, stated that he believed that Sarath Fonseka would be released within the next two days.

P. Ranasinghe Embilipitiya High Court Judge, has imposed a five-year imprisonment on a UPFA Pradeshiya Saba member of Thanamalwila. The Pradeshiya Sabha member has been jailed for possessing a large quantity of cannabis in 2003.Governing party Thanamalwila PS member, K.V. Chandrasekara was found having 250 kilos of cannabis in his possession and the case had continued for nine years.
