The Government Information Department stated that the existing CCTV cameras installed within the city of Colombo will be upgraded in order to better identify individuals and number plates vehicles.
Several Automated Teller Machines at key railway stations were opened by Sri Lanka’s Commercial Bank in order to provide commuters with instant access to its electronic cash dispensing facility. In a statement, the bank said that its first ATM machine under the programme was commissioned at the Fort Railway Station, Colombo.
