ADB Offered Rs. 9,347 million

From the Asian Development Bank has offered Rs. 9,347 million to the Finance and Planning Ministry, in order to renovate the access roads that lead to the Southern Expressway. Sri Lanka’s first expressway been utilized by 5,000 vehicles daily (average), the chairman of the road development authority Ranjith Pemasiri, stated. Daily revenues from tolls charged from motorists using the southern expressway, linking the capital Colombo with the southern town of Galle, is around 1.5 million rupees.
